“Alappuzha Gymkhana” Enters 50 Crore Club: Second Biggest Grosser of the Year After Empuraan

Khalid Rahman’s Alappuzha Gymkhana continues its dream run at the box office, officially entering the coveted ₹50 crore club. The film has grossed an impressive ₹56.1 crores worldwide in just 12 days, cementing its status as one of the biggest hits of the year. With an India gross of ₹37.1 crores and an additional ₹19 crores (USD 2.22 million) from overseas markets, the sports comedy drama has struck a chord with audiences globally.

The film, which stars Naslen, Lukman Avaran, Ganapathy, Baby Jean, and a host of fresh talents, has now surpassed the lifetime gross of Rekhachithram, becoming the second highest-grossing Malayalam film of the year, only behind Empuraan. With its unique blend of boxing-based sports drama and heartwarming comedy, Alappuzha Gymkhana has managed to entertain audiences of all ages.

Backed by a talented crew including writer Sreeni Saseendran, cinematographer Jimshi Khalid, editor Nishadh Yusuf, and music composer Vishnu Vijay, the film is a complete package. The soundtrack, especially “Alpy Xpress,” has become a hit among fans. Produced by Khalid Rahman, Jobin George, Sameer Karat, and Subeesh Kannanchery, this box office feat reaffirms the film’s position as a massive crowd-puller and a critical commercial success in 2025.
