“Please don’t compare me with Mohanlal sir”: Prabhas
Prabhas is now one of the most popular actors in the country thanks to the gargantuan success of Baahubali. He dedicated five solid years of his life to breathe life into SS Rajamouli’s vision. Prabhas developed a warrior’s physique and underwent training in sword fights and horse riding to play the titular role.
Prabhas is so supremely fit and majestic that his is the first image that flashes when one thinks of a period- historic movie. Recently, it was announced that Malayalam superstar Mohanlal would be playing the lead role of Bheemasenan in the upcoming multilingual movie The Mahabarata.
It is said to be the most expensive Indian movie ever and is being planned to be made on a whopping Rs 1000 crores. Immediately after the project was announced officially there were talks whether Mohanlal could portray the role of a warrior. Controversy’s favourite kid Kamal Rashid Khan aka KRK further added fuel to the discussions by tweeting that Prabhas should be the only actor who could portray that role.
Prabhas, who was in Kerala recently for the promotions of Baahubali 2, was asked about his opinion on the comparisons being made between him and Mohanlal. The actor said that it is unacceptable to compare him with someone like Mohanlal. He added that Mohanlal is one of the country’s best actors who commands huge respect. Prabhas reiterated that he should never be compared to an actor of Mohanlal’s stature.
Meanwhile, the second installment in the Baahuabli series, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has hit screens worldwide today. The movie has been getting extraordinary reports from all the release centres. Trade experts believe that the movie will most probably break all pre-existing records in the Indian box office.
