Prathi Poovankozhi is not based on Unni R’s novel: Rosshan Andrrews
The first look poster of Manju Warrier’s new film ‘Prathi Poovankozhi’ was released online last day. Unni R has scripted the film and is directed by Rosshan Andrrews. While the film was believed to be an adaptation of Unni R’s novel of the same name, director Rosshan has clarified that it is an entirely different film.
Last day, the director took to his social media handle to clear all the confusions regarding ‘Prathi Poovankozhi’. It was when Rosshan and Unni R were were working on the script of another film, ‘Pirates of Diego Garcia’, that the writer narrated this new story. Rosshan was impressed by it and wanted to make a film out of it. His wife also persuaded him to do the project immediately.
When he felt that ‘Prathi Poovankozhi’ would be an ideal title for the film, Unni was sightly hesitant as he did not want the audience to be mislead. So Rosshan had promised that he would inform prior to release itself that the film has nothing to do with the novel.
‘Prathi Poovankozhi’ has Manju Warrier and Ansuree essaying the roles of sales girls working in a textile outlet. Rosshan Andrrews is also making his acting debut by playing a negative role in the film. ‘Kumbalangi Nights’ fame Grace Antony, Saiju Kurup, Alencier Ley Lopez and ‘Marimayam’ Sreekumar are also part of the cast. G Balamurugan is the DOP and Gopi Sunder is handling the music department.
‘Prathi Poovankozhi’ is being produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sri Gokulam Films. The film is slated to hit screens on December 20.
