Premalu 2 Shooting to Begin in June 2025: Dileesh Pothan Confirms
The much-loved romantic comedy “Premalu,” which became a blockbuster in 2024, is set to return with its sequel. Dileesh Pothan, producer at Bhavana Studios, revealed in a recent interview that the filming of “Premalu 2” will commence by mid-June 2025. He mentioned that the script is ready, and the team focuses on finalizing locations and completing other pre-production work. The makers are aiming to release the film by the end of 2025.
Girish AD, who directed the original, will again take the director’s chair, with Kiran Josey continuing as the co-writer. Fans will be thrilled that the core cast members, including Naslen, Mamitha Baiju, Sangeeth Prathap, and Akhila Bhargavan, will reprise their roles, promising continuity and nostalgia.
“Premalu,” which debuted in February 2024, received glowing reviews from both critics and audiences, emerging as a massive hit. The film’s success also paved the way for dubbed versions in Tamil and Telugu, broadening its reach and fanbase.
