Anarakali Marikar, who played one of the seven leads in last year’s superhit movie Aanandam, has some exciting films in her kitty. The pretty actress is part of Prithviraj’s Vimaanam, Asif Ali’s Mandaram and Amala, a thriller film with Appani Sarath Kumar.
Interestingly, she will be seen as Prithviraj’s daughter in Vimaanam. The movie directed by newcomer Pradeep M Nair is inspired from the life of Saji Thomas, a speech and hearing person who built an aircraft on his own. Prithviraj play the role of a deaf and mute person in the movie.
He plays different life stages of the protagonist, who is a high school dropout. The film traverses through different stages of his life and presumably Anarkali’s portions will be the modern one with an aged Prithviraj. Since the movie spans two time periods, the actor had to sport distinct looks. Prithviraj, known for his dedication, had shed around 10 kilos for essaying this highly challenging role.
Though Vimaanam is inspired from the Saji’s life, it is not exactly a biopic. It also has a beautiful romantic track and newbie Durga Krishna is playing the female lead. The movie also has an elaborate supporting cast which includes actors like Nedumudi Venu, Lena, Praveena, Sudheer Karamana, Saiju Kurup, Shanthi Krishna Alencier Ley Lopez and P Balachandran among others.
Vimaanam is produced by Listin Stephen under the banner of Magic Frames. Though the release date is yet to be confirmed by the makers, there are reports about it releasing on November 10.
