Raatchasan emerges as the highest rated Tamil film in IMDB; Makers hint that a sequel is on cards!
Internet Movie Date base, popularly known as IMDb is an online database of information related to world films, television programs, home videos, video games and internet streams. The website ranks a list of the best in various categories. It is determined by customers who rate films and TV shows on a ten-point scale.
The Vishnu Vishal starrer ‘Raatchasan’ with a rating of 8.5 has now emerged as the top-ranked Tamil film on the website. It is followed by ‘Vikram Vedha’ and Kamal Haasan’s ‘Nayakan’. ‘Raatchasan’ also holds the third place in the list of top Indian films. Sathyajit Ray’s ‘Pather Panchali’ and the 1979 film ‘Golmaal’ are at the top two positions.
Along with sharing their happiness, Vishnu Vishal and director Ramkumar have also hinted that a sequel for ‘Raatchasan’ is on cards. The latter has tweeted that script works are progressing. ‘Raatchasan’ is about the story of an aspiring filmmaker who becomes a cop after his father’s death and how he tries to track down a serial killer.
Releasing in October 2018, the film became a huge blockbuster and also received highly positive reviews from critics. It was successfully remade in Telugu as ‘Rakshasudu’ with Nithiin reprising Vishnu’s role.
