Rahul Ravindran to reprise Suraj Venjaramoodu’s role in The Great Indian Kitchen remake
The Tamil remake of acclaimed Malayalam film ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’ (TGK) has gone on floors. Aishwarya Rajesh is playing the lead role in the film and it is directed by R Kannan. The film is produced by Kannan’s Masala Pix and MKRP Productions. The makers have signed actor-director Rahul Ravindran to essay the male lead’s part.
‘The Great Indian Kitchen’ directed by Jeo Baby is one of the most talked about Malayalam films in recent times. The film garnered widespread appreciation for its strong commentary against patriarchal norms and oppression against women. Releasing directly on streaming platform Neestream, the film grabbed the attention of many non-Malayalis as well. Nimisha Sajayan and Suraj Venjaramoodu played the lead roles in it.
In the Tamil remake, Aishwarya Rajesh plays Nimisha’s role and Rahul will be reprising Suraj’s part. Rahul is a noted actor in Tamil and Telugu. He has directed a couple of films — ‘Chi La Sow’ and ‘Manmadhudu 2’. About the joining the cast of ‘TGK’ remake, Rahul tweeted that it is an excellent script and he is eagerly looking forward to start working on it.
