Rajinikanth in Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol remake?
Mohanlal’s latest releaese Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol has entered its third week of successful theatrical run. The movie is doing great business in all the release centres.
Directed by Vellimoonga fame Jibu Jacob, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol is a family entertainer revolving around the lives of a middle aged couple. Mohanlal and Meena played the lead roles in the movie.
Grapevine suggests that director Jibu Jacob is planning to remake the movie in Tamil with none other than superstar Rajinikanth in the lead. It will be exciting to see Rajinikanth reprising Mohanlal’s character from the original. Earlier the superstar had reprised Mammootty’s character in Katha Parayumpol in the Tamil version Kuselan. An official confirmation regarding the Tamil remake is still awaited.
Recently we had reported that Tollywood actor Venkatesh Daggubati has shown interest in remaking the movie in Telugu. He had earlier played the lead in the Telugu remake of Drishyam.
Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, written by M Sindhuraj is about how a middle aged couple, Ulhannan and Aniyamma who rediscover their lost love from the boredom of their routine life. Mohanlal played the role of Ulahannan, a panchayath secretary while Meena played his wife Aniyamma, a homemaker.
Sindhuraj wrote the movie based on the popular short story Pranayopanishath by James VJ.
Anoop Menon, Aima Rose Sebastian, Sanoop Santhosh, Srinda Arhaan, Kalabhavan Shajon, Alencier Ley Lopez, Rahul Madhav, Neha Saxena, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sharafudheen, Sudheer Karamana, Joy Mathew, Asha Sarath and many others were also part of the supporting cast.
