Sasikumar joins the star cast of Rajinikanth’s Petta
Shoot for superstar Rajinikanth’s Petta with director Karthik Subbaraj, Petta is currently underway. The movie already has a huge star cast and latest to join the team is actor-director Sasikumar. This is his first film with both Karthik Subbaraj and Rajinikanth. As per reports, he has been roped in to play a very crucial role in the movie.
Petta has an incredible star cast, probably the biggest in Tamil cinema in recent years. Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, Simran, Trisha, Malavika Mohanan and Megha Akash are playing major roles alongside Rajinikanth. Guru Somasundaram, Munishkanth Ramdoss, Manikandan Achari, Sanath Reddy, Deepak Paramesh and ‘Aadukalam’ Naren are also part of the supporting cast.
Reportedly, the movie has Rajinikanth playing the role of a teacher in a Christian seminary. He has a lesser known gangster like dark past and that apparently is crux of the movie. Vijay Sethupathi and Nawazuddin are reportedly playing the antagonists. Shoot is nearing completion with a month long schedule left to be filmed in Varanasi. The makers are planning to wrap up by the end of this year.
The movie’s technical crew includes National award winning cinematographer Tirru, composer Anirudh, editor Vivek Harshan and action choreographer Peter Hein. Kalanithi Maran is producing movie under the banner of Sun Pictures.
