Shruti Haasan is officially out of the magnum opus Sangamithra
The magnum opus Sangamithra was launched week at the Cannes Film Festival. The team has now had a surprising change. Shurti Haasan who was supposed to play the titular role in the movie will not be a part of this epic project.
The exact reason behind such a big change is still not known. The producer of Sangamithra, Thenandal Studios Limited confirmed the news through their official Twitter space,
“Due to unavoidable circumstances, we are unable to proceed working with Shruti Haasan in Sangamithra.”
Sangamithra is a historical period drama, directed by Sundar C. The movie features Arya and Jayam Ravi in the lead roles. Sangamithra was officially launched recently at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

The first look posters were also unveiled at the launch The whole crew of Sangamithra including Shruti Haasan, music composer AR Rahman, production designer Sabu Cyril were present at the launch.
Sangamithra is said to be made on a whopping budget of Rs 250 crores. It is a period drama set in the 8th century AD. The lead actors have been undergoing rigorous training in horse riding, physical combat and other weapon-based martial arts training. The movie is expected to go on floors by August this year. Now that Shruti is officially out of the project, the makers will have a tough time in finding a replacement.
