Siddique wins Andhra Pradesh government’s Nandi Film Award
Veteran actor Siddique has won an honour in the Andhra Pradesh government’s Nandi Film Awards for the year 2013. The actor won the award for his performance in the National award winning movie Naa Bangaaru Talli.
Siddique is the first Malayali actor to bag an honour in the Nandi Film Awards. The actor delivered a stunning performance in Naa Bangaaru Talli, directed by Rajesh Touchriver. The movie was written by the director himself based on a real life story. Siddique, Anjali Patil, Rathna Shekar Reddy, Lakshmi Menon, and Neena Kurup played the major roles.
The movie discussed about the after effects of and testing the vulnerability of trust in human relations. The movie was also dubbed and released in Malayalam as Ente.
Naa Bangaaru Talli won awards in several international film festivals including the Best Film award at the Trinity International Film Festival in Detroit, and four major Awards at the Indonesian Film Festival. The movie also won three National awards including the award for Best Feature Film in Telugu.
Earlier in 2013, the Nandi Awards were stopped due to political agitation. After the bifurcation in 2014, there was a confusion regarding which of the two States- Andhra Pradesh and Telangana should give the awards.
Finally, Andhra Pradesh government has announced the Nandi Awards for the years 2012 and 2013.
