Sreenath Bhasi opts out of Mammootty’s The Priest
After delivering a string of impressive performances, Sreenath Bhasi is in a good space right now with offers flooding him. His last released film ‘Kappela’ earned him rave reviews and he now has a handful of promising projects. Bhasi was signed to play a major role in the Mammootty starrer ‘The Priest’. However, due to date issues the actor has opted out. It is not yet sure who replaced him in the film.
‘The Priest’ directed by debutant Jofin T Chacko is a mystery thriller. Manju Warrier plays the female lead in the film. There is also an elaborate supporting cast comprising Nikhila Vimal, Saniya Iyappan, Baby Monica of ‘Kaithi’ fame, Jagadheesh, Ramesh Pisharody, ‘Karikku’ fame Ameya Mathew, Venkitesh and Tony Luke. Shoot was progressing at a rapid pace when the lockdown was announced. Mammootty has already finished shooting his portions. Once the Corona crisis is over, the makers are expected to resume shooting for the remaining portions.
Sreenath Bhasi meanwhile has films like ‘Sumesh and Ramesh’ and ‘Idi Mazha Kaattu’ coming up. He will also be seen in the upcoming films of directors Arun Kumar Arvind, Amal Neerad and Abhilash Kumar.
