Standing ovation for Peranbu at IFFI; Organizers planning for a rescreening!
The much talked about Mammootty starrer ‘Peranbu’ had its premiere last day at the 49th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa. Since the movie had gained international acclaim after being screened at the Rotterdam festival and Shanghai festival, there was huge rush at IFFI screening. Online tickets were sold out within few minutes leaving hundreds stranded. As a large section of IFFI attendees felt disappointed on missing out Peranbu, the organizers are planning for a rescreening on November 27. An official confirmation regarding the same is still awaited.
‘Peranbu’ was screened at INOX – II for a packed audience. The response was unanimously positive with a standing ovation. Director Ram, producer PL Thenappan and actress Sadhana were honoured by the organizers. Ram also interacted with the audience after the movie and answered their questions. He had also requested them not to reveal the movie’s plot in social medias as the theatrical release date has not yet been finalized.
‘Peranbu’ tells the poignant story of a doting father and his mentally affected girl child. Those who watched the movie at IFFI have been raving about the performances of Mammootty and Sadhana. Both the actors are expected to bag quite a few awards for this movie.
