Tovino Thomas starrer Tharangam continues to get appreciation from both the critics as well as the common audience. The movie has an experimental nature and follows a pattern that is rarely seen in Malayalam movies nowadays. Many have showered praise on the rookie team for their courageous attempt to try something new rather than the usual run-of-the-mill stuff.
Celebrities like Lal, Basil Joseph, Chandini Sreedharan, Aparna Balamurali and many others have praised the movie through social medias. Recently, noted filmmaker Jude Anthany Joseph took to his Facebook handle to pen down his thoughts on the movie. He has written that Tharangam deserves all the applause that is coming its way. He particularly lauded the perfomances of Dileesh Pothan and the newcomers.
Tharanagam is directed by debutant Dominic Arun. The director has co-written the movie along with Anil Narayanan. It is a crime-comedy that also has some very interesting fantasy elements in it. Tovino, Balu Varghese and newbies Santhy Balachandran and Neha Iyer play the major roles. The movie has an elaborate supporting cast that includes seasoned actors like Manoj K Jayan, Vijayaraghavan, Saiju Kurup and several other newcomers.
Most of the technicians associated with this movie are newcomers. Deepak D Menon has cranked the camera and Aswhin Raju has handled the music department. The movie is jointly funded by Tamil actor Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films and Mini Studio.
