“The Mahabharata will bring the Oscar to India!” says director VA Shrikumar
Mohanlal will be teaming up with VA Shrikumar to play Bheeman for The Mahabharata penned by MT Vasudevan Nair. The movie which is made on a whopping 1000 crores budget is funded by business tycoon BR Shetty. The movie is said to begin shooting by September 2018 and would go on floors by 2020 as two parts.
Recently the director who had talked about the ambitious project to a news portal had expressed his views. He said “The movie boasts a huge budget but would also have bigger aspects apart from the budget. I believe Mohanlal sir and MT Vasudevan Nair sir would bring the Oscar to India for this flick!”
“I had bought the script of Randamoozham from MT sir for a contract of making it as a film within 15 years, but it would have a 2020 release. All the technical works of the movie have kick started. MT had the vision of making Randamoozham a cinema now or later” he added.
The Mahabarata would also witness some big names from around the globe as part of it’s cast and crew. The casting process is being managed by an international company and is moving on in a brisk pace. Apart from some big names from Indian cinema, many actors from Hollywood would also be sharing screen space with Mohanlal. It is reported that Big B Amithab Bachchan has been approached to play the role of Bheemasenan in this Hindu epic.
