The much awaited magnum opus from Telugu film industry, Baahubali conceived by master craftsman of south India Mr. SS Rajamouli is releasing all over the world today and the Tamil version of the flick is releasing here at Kerala as well. The flick has been made in both Telugu, Hindi and Tamil version. The Hindi version is distributing there by Karan Johar and in Kerala the Tamil version is distributing by Global United Media. The exciting news is that at Trivandrum there is 4K projection of the film as well at Aries Multiplex in S L Complex.
But the bad news for the film lovers in Kerala is that the theater strike declared by the film exhibitors federation yesterday will continue till Saturday and Baahubali will not be releasing in most of the A class theaters. But the distributors association is hopeful to release the film in as many theaters possible and the fact is that in the 123 theaters in which the film is charted almost 120 theaters were part of the exhibitors federation.
They called for the strike against the delay by our law enforcement body to catch the culprits who is behind the leaking of the censor copy of the film Premam helmed by Alphonse Puthren and financed by Anwar Rasheed. Exhibitors federation will meet tomorrow to decide the future course says Liberty Basheer the president of the federation.
Exhibiters association, the association of distributors and producers saying that the exhibitors federation is making a false cry over the Premam issue and their move is delay the release of Baahubali and thereby destroy the move to establish wide release in Kerala. The distributors association is all set for the wide release with the consent of the competition commission of India and according to them this can reduce the loss of a producer and distributor and also check the flow of pirated prints in the market. Exhibitors federation is all set to go to Supreme Court of India against the competition commission in this matter of wide release.
Whatever is the matter, these fights between various cinema association is killing Malayalam cinema and also denies film lovers the chance to see good films from theaters.
