Three in a row for Prithviraj-Tovino Thomas combo
Prithviraj Sukumaran’s latest movie Ezra hit screens on Friday. The movie has been getting excellent response from all the centres. Ezra, directed by debutant Jay K stars Prithviraj, Priya Anand and Tovino Thomas in pivotal characters.
Prithviraj has played the lead role of Ranjan Abraham in the movie. Tovino has played the role of a police officer for the first time in his career. He has played ACP Shafeer, a cop who enters the scene for an investigation. The actor has given a commendable performance in the movie.
This is the third time, Tovino is sharing screen space with Prithviraj, after 7th Day and Ennu Ninte Moideen. The actor won rave reviews for his portrayal of Perumpparambil Appu in Ennu Ninte Moideen. Interestingly, it was Prithviraj who suggested Tovino for the role after being impressed with his performance in 7th Day.
Ennu Ninte Moideen was a game changer in Tovino’s career. The movie gave him a much needed image makeover who till then was mostly seen in the good looking guy next door roles. But Appu in ENM showed how good the actor is while performing in emotional scenes. Though Tovino’s screen space in all was limited in all these three movies, he managed to create a lasting impact in the viewers mind.
Post ENM, he has been part of many good movies. This year, he has two highly anticipated movies in his kitty, Godha and Oru Mexican Aparatha. While he will be seen as a wrestler in Godha, he is playing a student leader in the latter.
