Unni Mukundan’s Marco Sets New Box Office Records in Telugu States
Marco, the Malayalam action thriller directed by Haneef Adeni and produced by Shareef Muhammed, has made an extraordinary impact in Telugu states. Released on December 20, 2024, the film stars Unni Mukundan in the lead, alongside Jagadish, Siddique, Yukti Thareja, Anson Paul, Sreejith Ravi, and Kabir Duhan Singh. With music by Ravi Basrur, cinematography by Chandru Selvaraj, and editing by Shameer Muhammed, the film’s Telugu-dubbed version has become a runaway success.
On its opening day, Marco collected over ₹1.75 crore in Telugu states, making it the highest-grossing Malayalam film on debut in the region. Its massive success prompted the addition of over 55 extra theaters, with screenings in these venues starting January 3, 2025. Despite receiving mixed reviews initially, the film has gained strong audience support, contributing to its record-breaking performance. It had already gone past 75 crore worldwide gross, and its Hindi version gross is all set to touch 5 crore as per reports.
