Vada Chennai to be premiered at Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon International Film Festival
Dhanush starrer ‘Vada Chennai’ is easily among the most hyped Tamil films in recent years. The movie marks his reunion with multiple National award winner Vetrimaran. Dhanush’s own banner Wunderbar Films is funding the movie jointly with Lyca Productions. As informed earlier, the movie is all set to have its Indian theatrical release on October 17.
Before that, ‘Vada Chennai’ will be having its world premiere in the Gala section at the second Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon International Film Festival (PYIFF). The second edition of PYIFF will be held in the United Nations heritage town of Pingyao in Shanxi province of China from October 11 to 20.
Vetrimaran is a four-time National award winning filmmaker. He has previously worked with Dhanush in ‘Polladhavan’ and ‘Aadukalam’. Both the films were widely acclaimed with ‘Aadukalam’ alone bagging six awards at the National level, which included two for Vetrimaran (best director and best scriptwriter) and best actor for Dhanush. Going by their track record, expectations are massive for ‘Vada Chennai’.
‘Vada Chennai’ is an epic gangster saga that spans different timelines. The makers have planned it as a trilogy, with the first part releasing on 17th. Along with Dhanush, the movie also has a host of other talented actors like Andrea Jeremiah, Aishwarya Rajesh, Samuthirakani, Ameer, Daniel Balaji Kishore, Karunas, Pawan and Radha Ravi.
