Vaikom Vijayalakshmi aiming to enter the record books
We had recently reported that talented singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi has called off her wedding after differences her with fiance Santhosh. But not one to go down, Vijayalakshmi is planning to enter the record books.
She is planning to create a new record by playing the Gayathri Veena instrument. She will be attempting the feat in a function scheduled to be held in Sarovar Hotel in Kochi. Her aim is to become the fastest musician in the world to play 51 songs in Gayathri
Veena.
Vijayalakshmi called off her wedding due to some unacceptable demands from Santhosh’s family. Santhosh had asked her not to participate any musical programmes after marriage instead asked her to work as a teacher in a music college. Their marriage was scheduled to be held on March 29.
Vaikom Vijayalakshmi is a highly talented singer who did not allow her blindness to affect her God given gift in music. Vijayalakshmi, a State Award winner, has worked in all South Indian languages with some of the best music directors like M Jayachandran, Ousepachan, Yuvan Shankar Raja, GV Prakash, MM Keeravani, Imman, Gopi Sunder and many others.
