Singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi to get married
Popular singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi is getting married to Santhosh, also a musician hailing from Puthiyangadi. The engagement will be held on December 13th. The marriage is fixed for March 29 next year.
Vaikom Vijayalakshmi did not let her blindness affect her music. She entered the film industry in 2012 and soon won the hearts of Malayali audience. Her first song “Kaate Kaate” from director Kamal’s Celluloid won her a Special Jury Mention in the Kerala State Award for the year 2012. Next year she won the State Award for best singer for the song “Ottaku Paadunna” again from director Kamal’s Nadan.
The talented singer has rendered for popular composers like M Jayachandran, Ousepachan, Santhosh Narayanan, Imman, Yuvan Shankar Raja etc. She is also an expert in a rare instrument, Gayatriveena.
She has song in many popular South Indian movies like Vijay’s Theri, Suriya’s Masss etc. She even rendered a song in the magnum opus Baahubali. She has song in 4 different languages, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi and Sanskrit.
Vaikom Vijayalakshmi is known for her peculiar voice and the subtle changes she uses for different tunes.
