Veteran actor Munshi Venu struggling for financial support
Munshi Venu, who became through the popular tele-strip Munshi is battling for life with not enough money for treatment.
Munshi Venu has acted in more than 75 movies in Mollywood. He is currently admitted in the palliative care unit in Muringoor, Chalakkudy. He is undergoing treatment in St James Hospital in Angamaly.
The actor was diagnosed with kidney failure six months back. He has been undergoing dialysis till then. The doctors have advised him for kidney transplantation.
He has to undergo dialysis for 12 times in a month. The cost for each dialysis and the medicines cost around 4000 rupees.
Venu originally hails from Thiruvananthapuram. He is unmarried and was staying in a lodge in Chalakkudy for the past 10 years.
The actor could not afford for both the rent and the treatment, so he moved out of the lodge. Venu is not a member of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) because he could not pay the hefty membership fees. So he has not received any financial help from the association as of now.
