Vijay’s Mersal to release in over 3300 screens worldwide; One of the biggest ever for a Tamil movie!
Vijay’s Mersal is all set to storm screens worldwide on October 18 as a grand Diwali release. The movie will be releasing amidst massive expectations. Sri Thenandal Films is backing this high profile project, which incidentally is also their 100th venture. They are planning to release the movie in a never before seen scale worldwide.
As per the makers, the movie will be releasing in over 3300 screens worldwide. More screens are being added with each passing day. In Malaysia alone, Mersal will be released in a whopping 800+ screens. Besides Tamil Nadu, the movie is expect to have a huge release in strongholds of Andra Pradesh, Telugana, Karnataka and Kerala, and overseas in the US, UAE, Singapore, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. Mersal is getting ready as one of ever release for a Tamil movie.
Leading production house Global United Media have bagged the theatrical rights of Mersal in Kerala. As per our sources, GUM is eyeing to get nearly 400 screens for Mersal’s release. This Vijay starer is expected to give a stiff challenge to Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’s record opening day collections.
From the promos, Mersal looks like a clean paisa vasool mass entertainer that appeals to audience of all age groups. Director Atlee is teaming up with Vijay for the second time after the smashing success of Theri, so expectations are multifold.
Vijay is playing a triple role for the first time in his two decade long career and his fans are highly excited about that. Samantha, Kajal Agarwal and Nithya Menen play the three female leads. Apart from the star-studded cast, the movie has some big names in the technical department as well. Oscar winner AR Rahman is composing the music and Baahuabli’s co-writer Vijayendra Prasad has helmed the movie’s screenwriting along with Atlee and Ramana Girivasan.
