Veteran director of Mollywood, Vinayan is all set to do a Tamil film now. And in his latest update he said that it will be the remake of his own Malayalam film named Aakasha Ganga which was released in 1999 and was a successful film at box office. Aakasha Ganga is considered as the first horror comedy film in mollywood and at was Vinayan who is produced that film as well.
Now Vinayan said that he is going to remake that film in Tamil and he will soon start the work that Tamil version soon after the release of his Little Superman 3D which will release in this summer vacation season. Even though the film was released last year, it has had to stop running in theaters due to some controversies and Vinayan had now made changes to its climax portion with lot more graphics and also added something new to it and he almost had spent above 75 lakhs to make it perfect as per reports.
Vinayan’s Aakasha Ganga was a trendsetter success at that time and many horror films released after that had really took its inspiration from Vinayan’s horror comedy. It was Vinayan’s production venture under Aakash films and the lead artists in the film are Mukesh, Divya Unni, Mayuri, Riyaz, Innocent, Jagadeesh, Kalpana, Sukumari, Sphadikam George, Rajan P Dev, Kalabhavan Mani, Cochin Haneefa, Madhupal, Kanakalatha, Jagathy Sreekumar, Bindhu Ramakrishnan, Indhulekha N F Varghese, etc.
The horror scenes in that film is technically brilliant and the comedy numbers also were big hit during that time. Others who worked in this film were S Rameshan Nair penned down the lyrics for the songs composed by Berny-Ignatious duo and the songs were hits as well. The screenplay was written by Vinayan along with noted script writer Benny P Nayarambalam and DOP was Rama Chandra Babu. The film was released in 26 January 1999.
Vinayan always tried to give new and technically perfect visuals and stories to mollywood film lovers and Aakasha Ganga was one like that during that time. And his latest attempts such as Aaakasha Ganga was Dracula 3D and Little Superman 3D which were also appreciated by people for the effort he puts in to make such films and for its technical brilliance.
