‘Komala Thaamara’ First Single Unveiled from Krishand’s Cyberpunk Sci-Fi Comedy Masthishkamaranam
The makers of filmmaker Krishand’s much-anticipated cyberpunk sci-fi investigation comedy Masthishkamaranam have dropped the film’s first single, “Komala Thaamara”, setting the mood for a vibrant, futuristic ride. Packed with infectious kuthu beats blended with retro vibes, the foot-tapping number offers a sonic glimpse into the film’s quirky world set in 2046 Kochi.
One of the biggest highlights of the song is Rajisha Vijayan, who appears in a glamorous avatar for the first time, grabbing attention with her striking screen presence. The sfilm also features an eclectic ensemble cast including Niranj Maniyanpilla Raju, Vishnu Agasthya, Divyaprabha, Jagadeesh, Suresh Krishna, and others.
The track is composed, produced and mixed by Varkey, who also serves as the film’s music director and sound designer. Pranavam Sasi lends his voice as the lead vocalist, while the Malayalam lyrics and rap are penned by Anil Lal. The Tamil rap portions are written and performed by Andre, adding a bilingual, cross-cultural edge to the song. Backing vocals are by Gowtham Sreenivasan, Varkey, Anil Lal, and Arjun B Nair.
Directed by Krishand, Masthishkamaranam is produced by Ajith Vinayaka Films, with screenplay and dialogues also written by the director himself. Prayag Mukundan handles the cinematography, Shravan Satya choreographs the stunts, and editing is done by Krishand.
Slated for a theatrical release in February 2026, the film promises a mind-bending mix of futuristic science fiction, investigation, and comedy. Adding to the excitement, the makers have also confirmed that the second part of Masthishkamaranam will begin rolling in July this year, hinting at an ambitious cinematic universe in the making.
With “Komala Thaamara” setting the tempo, Masthishkamaranam is gearing up to be one of the most offbeat and exciting Malayalam releases on the horizon.
