Thalaivi trailer out; Kanagana Ranaut’s film looks like a grand retelling of Jayalalithaa’s story
‘Thalaivi’, the biopic of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, is gearing up for release. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut plays the lead role in the film. It is her birthday today and the makers have taken this special occasion to release the film’s trailer. A grand trailer launch event is currently being held in Chennai.
‘Thalaivi’ directed by AL Vijay looks like a grand retelling of J Jayalalithaa’s story. In the trailer, Kangana looks striking similar to Jayalalithaa of the olden times. The actress had taken lot of efforts for the film, which includes learning Tamil language and getting trained in classical dancing. She also put on extra weight for playing the character. Arvind Swamy essays the role of MGR in the film. Shamna Kasim and Samuthirakani are essaying other major roles.
‘Thalaivi’ is scripted jointly by ‘Baahubali’ writer KV Vijayendra Prasad and Rajat Arora. The film has Vishal Vittal cranking the camera and music composed by GV Prakash. It is jointly produced by Vishnu Induri and Shaailesh R Singh. The film is set to have a grand theatrical release on April 23.
