Watch: Vidyut Jammwal’s Kalari 3rd Eye Training
Bollywood actor Vidyut Jammwal is a trained martial artiste who has learnt the traditional Indian martial art of Kalaripayattu since the age of 3. He has often stated that his vision is to popularise the indigenous martial art kalaripayattu through Indian cinema. The actor has also been training students and martial arts aspirants. Recently, he shared a video in his social media handle in which he is shown pulling off an incredible feat with blinded eyes.
According to the description in the YouTube video, “The eyes are useless when the mind is blind. Kalari 3rd eye training is the evolution of an individual and is a continuous process with focus and regularity.”
Before becoming an actor, Vidyut was a martial arts performer. He trained in Kalaripayattu in an ashram in Palakkad, Kerala since he was 3 years old, which was run by his mother. He traveled to several countries training with martial artists in various forms, some of which find their base in Kalaripayattu. After earning a degree in martial arts, he travelled to over 25 countries, where he performed in live action shows.
Vidyut shot to fame by playing the antagonist character in ‘Force’, which was the remake of the hit Tamil film, ‘Kaakha Kaakha’. He is also popular for his roles in films like ‘Thuppakki’, ‘Anjaan’ and the ‘Commando’ series. The action-thriller film ‘Khuda Haafiz’ that got premiered in Disney+Hotstar was his last release.
