Official: Mamangam hits the 60 crore mark from four days of theatrical run!
Mammootty’s much hyped period film ‘Mamangam’ got released last Friday (December 12) amidst massive expectations. The film had a simultaneous worldwide release. The makers had claimed that the first day collections from the worldwide box office account to around Rs 23 crore. Just a while back, they declared that the film has grossed a whopping Rs 60.70 crores from its first four days of worldwide theatrical run.
According to the makers, ‘Mamangam’ is running in over 2000 screens across 45 countries worldwide. Though the critic reviews have been mixed, the fact that the film got a massive worldwide release in multiple languages has helped the film a great deal. Apart from the original Malayalam version, ‘Mamangam’ has been released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages.
Trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai has tweeted,
#Mamangam is reported to have grossed worldwide around ₹60 Cr, in its opening 4-day weekend (Dec 12-15) which is impressive.Though the film carries mixed reviews, it was able to open simultaneously in a lot of screens in India & worldwide in 4 languages,giving that extra reach.
‘Mamangam’ directed by M Padmakumar is an epic film made on a huge budget. Mammootty and Unni Mukundan play fearless warriors in the film, which is the story of chaaverukal. Venu Kunnappilly of Kavya Films has produced this mega budget film.
