‘Arjun Reddy’ Tamil remake: Here’s the first look of ‘Varma’ starring Dhruv Vikram!
As we already know, the Telugu blockbuster ‘Arjun Reddy’ is getting remade in Tamil as ‘Varma’ with Vikram’s son Dhurv playing the titular role. The movie’s first look poster has been released today on the occasion of Dhruv’s birthday. Varma is directed by National Award winner Bala. The first look poster features Dhruv riding the bike along with Megha Chowdhury, the movie’s female lead.
Though Dhruv’s look is similar to that of Vijay Deverakonda’s from the original, the poster looks amateurish and has already been subjected to heavy trolling in social medias. It will be hard for the makers to live up to the expectations as the mark set by ‘Arjun Reddy’ is quite high. The original was a sensational blockbuster all across the South.
Arjun Reddy, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, tells the story of ab impulsive medical surgeon who falls madly in love with his college junior. He becomes alcoholic post break-up and the rest of the story is about how he redeems himself. Vijay Deverakonda’s stellar performance was widely talked about. It will be a big challenge for not just Dhruv, but any other actor to outperform him. The movie is also being remade in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor.
Director Bala is famous for his intense style of filmmaking with most of his films having a dark and disturbing nature. With ‘Varma’, he is expected to showcase an unseen side of his. The movie’s technical crew includes cinematographer Sukumar and composer Radhan, who composed the music in ‘Arjun Reddy’ as well.
‘Varma’ is the maiden Tamil production of Mollywood’s leading banner, E4 Entertainment.
