How Mohanlal entered the film industry ?
Mohanlal is an actor who never takes anything on his head, be it his failures or successes. He continues to amaze us even after 36 years of being in the industry. Everytime people write him off, he replies back with a blockbuster.
Everybody knows Mohanlal and his growth in the film industry from debuting as a villain to becoming the most popular and bankable actor in Mollywood. But little do we know about how he entered the industry. We have got some interesting facts about how Mohanlal stepped into the world of cinema.
Mohanlal in a recent interview has shared about how things happened for him. The actor says, “I was never interested in entering the film industry. It was my friends who asked me to try a hand in movies. After seeing a casting call for a movie in a newspaper they applied for me.”
“When I went to the post office to send the application, there was no change. Because I was not interested, I did not ask anyone for change and hid the application in my scooter. It was Suresh Kumar who found the application and posted it. I went for the audition, did all that they asked me to do and got the part. I have been doing the same for the past 16 years. Only God knows how I survived in the industry.”
He continued, “I did not pre plan anything like making a mark in the industry. I never really dreamt of stardom in my whole life. While working, I fully concentrate and devote myself to that. This is what I have been doing for the past 36 years. I don’t even remember many of my old movies. Even while watching some movies, I find it hard to figure out which movie that was. I just took things as it came.”
This shows the reason for his success. The humbleness he possess even after being such a big star is a great quality.
Even after having a dull period for two to three years the actor once again proved his authority by delivering three back to back blockbusters in two months time.
His last two releases in Mollywood, Oppam and Pulimurugan are still running successfully in the theatres with the latter becoming the first Malayalam movie to enter the 100 crore club.
