The state Film awards for the year 2014 has announced today evening by the honorable Minister Thiruvanjoor Radhakrishnan. And the most prestigious awards for best actor was shared by the young star of Mollywood Nivin Pauly and another great talent Sudev Nair. Nivin Pauly had won the award for his performance in films like Abrid Shine directoral film 1983 and Anjali Menon directorial film Bangalore Days. 2015 seems to be becoming the best year of Nivin’s career with blockbuster successes and First best actor award in state film awards. Sudev Nair had shared the award with Nivin Pauly for the film named My Life Partner directed by Padma Kumar.
The award for the best actress of the year 2014 was given to Nazriya Nazim for her performance in the film Om Shanti Oshana directed by Jude Antony and Bangalore days helmed by Anjali Menon. Om Shanti Oshana also got the award for popular film of the year as well. Best director of the year award went to Sanal Kumar Sasidharan for the film named Oral Pokkam. Best film of the year award goes to Ottal directed by Jayaraj. The award for best music director was given to Ramesh Narayan and award for background music was given to Biji Pal.
The best screen writer award went to Anjali menon for the screenplay of Bangalore Days and the award for best adapted screenplay was given to Ranjith for Njan. The best debutant director of the year was Abrid shine for 1983. The best character actor award went to Anoop Menon for his performance in 1983 and Vikramadithyan directed by Abrid Shine and Lal Jose respectively. The character actress is Sethu Lakshmi for her performance in the film How old are you helmed by Roshen Andrews.
Amal Neerad had won the best cinematographer award for his film Iyyobibte Pusthakam. The award for best story was given to Sidhartha Siva for Ain. The best male Singer was Dr. K J Yesudas and Female singer was Shreya Ghoshal. The best editor award went to Lijo Paul for Om Shanti Oshan and the award for best child artists male and female went to Master Adwaith for Ankooram and Anna Fathima for Randu Penkuttikal. The award for best lyricist went to O S Unni Krishnan.
