Situation in Chennai remains the same even though much help and support are coming their way. The continuous rain there causing the problems for relief activities. Help is coming to them in the form of money to the relief fund from various corners of South India and services like shelter, food, clothes and medicines also giving to them by various organizations. Political, cultural and social organizations together trying their best to make the situation under control. Many artists and technicians from the film industry all over south India had contributed handsomely to the Chennai relief fund. On that list now Rajinikanth came as well with 10 crore rupees of donation.
But the interesting thing is that Rajinikanth had only donated rupees 10 Lakhs to the relief fund at first. Other like Vijay, Kamal Haasan etc given rupees 5 crore each to the fund. Ajith gave 60 lakhs and shelter for 180 flood victims. Suriya gave 25 lakhs. Raghavendra Lawrence gave 1 crore rupees as well. There has been a lot of criticism against Rajinikanth, when he only gave 10 lakhs rupees after being the highest paid actor in Kollywood.
So when the criticism became unbearable, Rajinikanth had decided to give 10 crore rupees to the relief fund. He had given that money cancelling his birthday celebration which has been all set to celebrate on December 12. As per reports, along with birthday celebrations, there was a plan to have the Pooja function of the next flick named Enthiran 2 directed by Shankar as well.
Anyway the criticism from all over at last persuaded him to give something big to the relief fund as other did. Even Bollywood star Sharukh Khan reportedly decided to give the first da gross collection of his upcoming release Dilwale to the Chennai Relief Fund. There has been reports that even sex workers had given 1 lakh to the relief fund. Rajinikanth is now shooting for Kabali directed by Pa Renjith and most part of the film is being shot at Malaysia. Pa Renjith had shot to fame after the critically and commercially acclaimed film Madras with Karthi in the lead.
