Om Puri all set to make is presence felt in Mollywood again, through Aadupuliyattam
Aadupuliyattam is the upcoming big budget Mollywood film, written by Dinesh Pallath and directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam. The film is based a myth that is 600 years old as per reports and it is a horror comedy. The male lead of this film is popular actor Jayaram and the tough look Jayaram sported for this film with long moustache and bold beard was already went viral in social media platforms. But the film had more to it to invite the attention of the audience. One factor among those is the presence of popular Bollywood Actor Om Puri, who is considered as one of the finest actors in India.
Om Puri is playing a key role in this movie and he is making a comeback to Malayalam cinema after 28 years. He had acted in a Malayalam film for the first time in the year 1988. It was the film named Puravrutham directed by Lenin Rajendran and written by CV Balakrishnan. So Aadupuliyattam is a sort of comeback film for Om Puri in to Mollywood in all sense.
Everybody is curious about why he chose a character in a commercial horror film and that too in Mollywood. That itself gives the audience a hope that there is something in the film which attracted even Om Puri to come to Malayalam cinema. He is a busy actor in Hindi Cinema and acted in many other Indian languages as well. He had acted in British films as well.
Apart from Om Puri, popular south Indian actress Ramya Krishnan is also playing an important and powerful role in this film. She had done a Malayalam film named Appavum Veenjum last year, after the gap of several years. Now, she is coming again with a Malayalam film, which itself gives us great anticipation for the movie. Apart from these artists, popular Malayalam cinema artists like Ramesh Pisharody, Saju Navodaya etc also playing important roles in this film.
