Chiyaan Vikram’s ‘I’ has been ruling the international box office in its opening weekend and has gave a better performance than many leading Indian movies including Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan’s and Raj Kumar Hirani directorial blockbuster movie PK. I, the showman Shankar directorial has got a quick fire start at many international circuits and still going great guns. As per the reports ‘I’ has got 4.3 crore from its tamil version,1.81 crore from its telugu version and 6.40 lakh from its Hindi versions (3 versions released in US) , from the US Box Office in the opening weekend from 222(Tamil), 131(Telugu) and 36(Hindi) screens it got released there.
When we look at PK, in its fifth weekend, has got 39.08 lakh from 31 screens there. The total collection of Aamir Khan’s movie here is 52.36 crore and it is a record too. There are many releases after PK and I like Hindi movie Tevar and Tamil film Aambala . But they did not perform up to the expected level as far the collection is concerned. Tevar had collected in 1 crore and the Tamil film Ambala had made 1.47 lakh only in the opening weekend at the US Box Office, which is not at all a good start according to the trade guides.
