Mohanlal movie Oppam towards a theatrical run of 50 days in 64 centres
Mohanlal is having his best season, commercially, in recent years. His last two releases Oppam and Pulimurugan are doing stupendous business in the box office.
Both Oppam and Pulimurugan had earlier officially entered the 50 crore club.
Oppam has now crossed a theatrical run of 50 days. The movie is still being screened in 64 theatres across Kerala.
Oppam was released during the Onam season along with Prithviraj starrer Oozham. Oppam is a crime thriller directed by master director Priyadarshan.
Oppam was a different attempt from Priyadarshan- Mohanlal combination. It the first time the celebrated duo was doing a thriller.
Apart from thrilling aspects, an endearing bond between a father figure and a little girl was also shown in the movie.
Before the release itself the songs and trailer increased the hype and that worked a great deal in the initial response. Soon word of mouth spread and audience started flocking the theatres. Oppam is a kind of movie that can be enjoyed by audience of all age groups.
Oppam had Mohanlal playing the role of a blind man. This was the first time Mohanlal was acting as a blind man throughout the movie. His performance was highly appreciated along with Priyadarshan’s skilled filmmaking.
Oppam also starred Samuthirakani, Nedumudi Venu, Vimala Raman, Anjali Aneesh Upasana, Renji Panicker, Chemban Vinod, Aju Varghese, Kalabhavan Shajon, Mamukkoya and many other artists playing supporting roles.
