Sai Pallavi backs out of Vikram movie

Sai Pallavi became an overnight sensation in the south Indian film industry with the celebrated character Malar teacher in Malayalam blockbuster movie Premam.

The actress of Tamil origin has not yet made her debut in Kollywood but already enjoys a huge fan following there. She was initially cast for legendary director Mani Ratnam’s upcoming movie Kaatru Veliyidai but was later replaced by Bollywood beauty Aditi Rao Hydari as the director felt that the character suited the latter better. Then there were speculations about Sai Pallavi acting opposite Vijay but was shrugged off as mere records.

Later she was officially signed to play the female lead in Vikram’s next with director Vijay Chander of Vaalu fame. Shoot for the movie was about to kick-start soon. But according to latest developments, the pretty actress has opted out of the project. It is reported that there were remuneration issues right from the beginning. She was even given an advance payment of Rs 15 lakh but she has now decided to walk out citing date issues. The actress is yet to establish herself in Tamil industry and producers feel that she is already charging high prices.

The team is currently in talks with other leading heroines to replacing Sai Pallavi. Tamannaah who has of late been taking up only movies with plum roles, has been approached for the film. She is yet to sign the dotted lines.

Though Sai Pallavi opted out of the Vikram starrer, she has allotted bulk dates for the Tamil remake of Charlie helmed by director AL Vijay.
Madhavan is playing Dulquer Salmaan’s character from the original while Sai Pallavi will be reprising Parvathy Menon’s character.
