Mohanlal’s latest release Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol is continuing it’s glorious theatrical run even after a month of it’s release. We had earlier reported that the movie crossed the 50 crore mark.
Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol (MVT) has done an overall business of over 50 crores including the satellite, audio, overseas and all other rights. Here is the latest collection reports from trade sources.
From Kerala box office alone, the movie has grossed Rs 31 crores. Collections from the rest of India centres amount to Rs 3 crores. In UAE and GCC centres, MVT has raked in a whopping Rs 8.90 crores. Box office figures from US, UK and other overseas centres is estimated to be around Rs 3.50 crores. In total, the box office collections alone amount to Rs 46.50 crores.
Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, directed by Vellimoonga fame Jibu Jacob featured Mohanlal and Meena in the lead roles. It is Mohanlal’s third successive Malayalam movie to enter the 50 crore club after Oppam and Pulimurugan.
MVT is written by M Sindhuraj based on James VJ’s popular short story Pranayopanishath. The story revolves around a middle aged couple who rediscover their lost love from the boredom of their routine life.
Mohanlal essayed the character of Ulahannan, a panchayath secretary while Meena played his wife Aniyamma, a homemaker. Aima Rose Sebastian, Sanoop Santhosh, Anoop Menon, Alencier Ley, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Rahul Madhav, Neha Saxena and Kalabhavan Shajon essayed other supporting characters.
