Vijay- Atlee movie titled as Thalapathi?
Tamil superstar Vijay is currently shooting for his next with Theri director Atlee. The movie is tentatively titled as Vijay 61. There have been several specualtions about the title. But according to latest reports, the makers are trying to acquire the title of Mani Ratnam’s cult blockbuster Thalapathi. However, there is still no official confirmation about the title. Vijay is fondly called as Ilayathalapathy by his fans, so Thalapathy will be a fitting title for his latest movie.
We had earlier reported that Vijay is playing a triple role in the movie. Apparently, one of the roles would be as a police officer while the other two parts are still kept under the wraps. This will be the first time Vijay will be seen in a triple role in his two decade long career.
The movie is a semi period drama with a major portion set in the 80s timeline. This portion is reportedly set in the Madurai area. The actor was seen sporting a twirled moustache and beard for this schedule. There were also reports that some portions of the movie are set abroad and that the team will be travelling to UK and US for an extensive schedule.
As we had reported earlier, the movie will have three female leads- Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kajal Agarwal and Nithya Menen. Apart from Vijay and the three lead ladies, the cast also includes SJ Suryah, Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, Sathyan and Kovai Sarala in important roles.
KV Vijayendra Prasad who has scripted big budget blockbusters like Baahubali and Bhajrangi Bhaijaan has written the screenplay for the movie. Academy Award winner A R Rahman is the music director while debutant GK Vishnu is handling the cinematography. Ruben is in charge of the cuts. The movie is produced by Sri Thenandal Films.
