Take Off; Parvathy played the pregnant Sameera this way
Editor Mahesh Narayanan’s debut movie Take Off is the latest talk of the town. The movie has been getting extraordinary response and the audience count has only been swelling after the opening weekend.
Apart from the technical brilliance, critics have also showered immense praise on the actors’ performances. Even amidst the presence of seasoned actors like Fahadh Faasil and Kunchako Boban, it was Parvathy who had more prominence in the movie. The actress just doesn’t seem to put a foot wrong and has been portraying some memorable characters for the last few years.
Sameera from Take Off is a kind of character that demanded someone who could get into the skin and there was no better choice than Parvathy for that role.
In a recent interview, Kunchacko Boban revealed how Parvathy peppers up for her characters. For a good part of the movie, Parvathy is seen as a pregnant woman. In a beautifully conceived intimate scene, Kunchacko Boban’s character Shahid had to touch the pregnant Sameera’s tummy.
Before starting the shoot, Kunchako Boban told her that the tummy looked very convincing, as he thought it was some prosthetics work. That’s when Parvathy told him that it was her real tummy. The actress had drank a few liters of water to balloon her tummy for that scene. That tells a lot about the dedication of the actress towards the craft.
Both Kunchacko Boban and Parvathy played nurses in the movie. Take Off is actually a story inspired from real life incidents, that happened in 2014, where a group of nurses got trapped in Tikrit region in Iraq during the during the ISIS attacks. The movie showcases how rescue operations were carried out to save the nurses.
Take Off jointly written by Mahesh Narayanan and PV Shaji Kumar. Abhilash Balachandran and Mahesh Narayanan handled the edits. Sanu Varghese cranked the camera for this movie.
Take Off was made as a tribute to late filmmaker Rajesh Pillai. The movie is funded by Anto Joseph and Shebin Becker in association with Rajesh Pillai Films.
