After Take Off, PV Shaji Kumar lands in Puthan Panam
Renowned editor Mahesh Narayanan’s debut directorial Take Off continues to garner appreciation from the audience. The movie is a fictionalized account of the 2014 incident where a group of Malayali nurses were held captive by ISIS militants in Iraq. Take Off was written by director Mahesh Narayanan and popular writer PV Shajikumar.
The 33 year old writer is a recipient of numerous prestigious awards including Kendra Sahitya Akademi’s Yuva Award and Kerala Sahitya Akademi’s Geeta Hiranyan Award. He made his entry to cinema as a screenwriter through the internationally acclaimed movie Kanyaka Talkies.
After Take Off, he is worked as a dialogue writer in director Ranjith’s next release Puthan Panam, that stars Megastar Mammootty in the lead role.
Puthan Panam will be a different perspective on director Ranjith’s National award winning movie Indian Rupee. The movie will throw light on the current financial situation and the black money circulation in the country.
Puthan Panam is scheduled to release on April 13. The movie will be releasing amid high expectations as it marks the teaming up of Mammootty with Ranjith after a long gap.
Mammootty is playing the role of a rich businessman, Nityananda Shenoy. He will be using the Kasargod slang in the movie. Ineya and Sheelu Abraham are playing the the female leads. Siddique, Sai Kumar, Renji Panicker, Harish Kanaran, Mamukoya, Aanandam fame Vishak Nair, Ganapathy, Nirmal Palazhi and many others will be seen in supporting roles.
Om Prakash who has worked in movies like Maari and Kaashmora is cranking the camera while Shaan Rahman is handling the music department.
Puthan Panam is produced by 3 Color Cinemas, a new production company jointly owned by Abraham Mathew, director Ranjith and actor Arun Narayanan.
