Nivin Pauly to play Mullakoya in Moothon
Nivin Pauly had recently completed his acting lessons with Atul Moria for Geetu Mohandas’s Moothon. The movie which is unique in it’s own kind would have a mix of reality with magical realism. The principal shooting location is said to be in the Lakshadweep islands.
The first look which had earlier released showing Nivin as an elderly character with half-bald head, nose ring, a scar on the eyebrow had gained much attention. This is what Geetu had to say about the movie “The film completely tells the story of Mullakoya from Lakshadweep. He then prepares to begin a long trip with the mission to find his brother. Moothon is the slang referred to an elder brother in the island”
“Moothon is completely made as an artistic expression of mine, never an offbeat or commercial. I’m a bit nervous frankly to know how the audience would take in my making style, I feel they would love it. Nivin rightly fits in to play the title character Moothon and I feel it would work out well” she added.
The bilingual movie is also penned by Geetu herself. The camera is cranked by her husband and film maker Rajeev Ravi. It also marks the first movie of Anurag Kashyap in our industry as a screenplay writer. The movie is funded by Aanand L Rai under the banner Colour Yellow Productions. It would hit theaters by the end of this year.
