Baahubali 2 breaks Dangal’s record
SS Rajamouli’s hugely anticipated epic action drama Baahubali 2 The Conclusion is all set to release tomorrow (April 28). The movie is releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam simultaneously.
Advance bookings have already started and the tickets are being sold out in record time. First day shows in most centres across the country have already been booked housefull.
According to Book My Show, a popular online ticket booking site, over 1 million tickets have been sold in 24 hours. As per a statement issued by them, this is a new record toppling the previous one held by Aamir Khan’s all time blockbuster Dangal.
Ashish Saksena, COO-Cinemas, BookMyShow said, “BookMyShow is experiencing an unprecedented advance booking for Baahubali 2. We have already sold over 1 million tickets across languages, even when the bookings have been live for just over a day. Though Baahubali 2 is largely perceived to be loved by South Indian audience, the response from Hindi speaking markets has been highly encouraging as well. Once all the cinemas in South come out with their schedules for the film, we expect the online ticket sales for Baahubali 2 to surge at an increasingly fast pace.”
Baahubali 2 is the sequel to Baahubali: The Beginning released in 2015. The movie was a nationwide blockbuster raking in around 500 crores from the box office worldwide. The first part had many unanswered questions, thereby piquing the curiosity of the audience. This high levels of curiosity raised the expectations of the audience and it has reflected on the unprecedented pre release hype.
