Kerala Box Office : Take Off Collection Report 35 Days
Editor Mahesh Narayanan’s directorial debut Take Off is still continuing it’s successful theatrical run in the state. The movie starring Parvathy Menon, Kunchako Boban, Fahadh Faasil and Asif Ali in major roles, is inspired from real life events. It is a fictionalized account of the 2014 incident where a group of Malayali nurses were held captive in the Tikrit region in Iraq.
Take Off, released on March 24 opened to extremely positive reviews from critics and was soon lapped up by the audience. Even after a month from the release, the movie continues to good business. It is a great achievement considering the fact that Take Off had to compete with some biggies like The Great Father, 1971 Beyond Borders, Sakhavu and Puthan Panam.
According to latest reports from trade sources, Take Off has grossed Rs 15.3 crores from it’s 35 days theatrical run in Kerala. The movie was made as a tribute to late filmmaker Rajesh Pillai. It is funded by Anto Joseph and Shebin Becker in association with Rajesh Pillai Films. Mekha Rajesh Pillai is the executive producer of the movie.
Upon release, Take Off was appreciated by the critics and the audience alike. Leading stars like Mohanlal, Mammootty, Jayasurya, Kamal Haasan, Suriya and Sivakarthikeyan showered praise on the movie. The positive word of mouth has had a great impact in the box office collections.
