Allu Arjun and Ram Charan to be part of the 500 crore project Ramayana
Recently, it was officially announced that the Hindu mythological epic Ramayana is being made into a movie. Three producers from the south- Madhu Mantena, Allu Aravind and Namit Malhotra are investing a massive budget of Rs 500 crore for this magnum opus.
They are planning to make this movie as a multilingual in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Script works for the movie was kick-started nearly an year back and it will be made in three parts just like the Lord of The Rings series. Eventhough the makers have not revealed any details about the cast or the crew members, talks are rife about South Indian stars Allu Arjun and Ram Charan playing major roles in the movie.
Apparently, there are solid reasons to believe these reports as Allu Arjun’s father Allu Aravind is one the producers of this ambitious project. Ram Charan also belongs to the ‘Mega’ family and hence chances are high for such a casting.
Both Allu Arjun and Ram Charan are widely popular in the South. They both have proved their mettle while playing warrior kind roles in period fantasy drama. The latter’s spectacular performance in SS Rajamouli’s Magadheera was unanimously appreciated. Incidentally, Allu Aravind was also the producer of Magadheera.
Ramayana will have leading stars from all the major Indian languages. One of the three producers of this upcoming magnum opus, Namit Malhotra, owns the company Prime Focus who handled the visual effects for Hollywood biggies like Star Wars, Transformers and The Martian.
Expectations are already soaring high for this project after the record- breaking success of the Baahubali franchise. The recently released sequel in the Baahubali series became the first Indian movie to cross the 1000 crore mark.
