Release date postponed for Mammootty’s Masterpiece?
Megastar Mammootty is currently busy shooting Masterpiece, his next with Ajai Vasudev of Rajadhiraja fame. The movie, written by Udhayakrishna features Mammootty as a college professor.
Earlier, there were reports about the movie hitting screens during the Onam season. But we now hear that the release date is being postponed to September. The makers are eyeing to release it for the Pooja holidays.
Mammootty is playing the role of professor Edward Livingston aka Eddy. The story is about the arrival of a strict and tough professor to a college of spoilt students. Eddy, who is also an old student of the college was even worse during his college days. What happens when he lands in the college is the core plot of this movie.
Shoot for the movie is progressing in Fathima Matha college in Kollam. The team are currently shooting a riveting stunt sequence, reportedly the interval block fight. Stunt Silva is choreographing this stunt which will be shot for around 10 days.
This Ajai Vasudev directorial has a huge ensemble star cast. Unni Mukundan and Kasaba fame Varalaxmi Sarathkumar will be seen as police officers. Gokul Suresh, Mukesh, Maqbool Salmaan, Poonam Bajwa, Mahima Nambiar, Kalabhavan Shajon, Santhosh Pandit, Salim Kumar and many others are also part of the cast.
Vinod Ilampally is handling the camera while Deepak Dev will be composing the music. A newly formed production house Royal Cinemas owned by CH Muhammed is funding this movie.
