Mohanlal will be seen in a complete makeover in Mahabharata: VA Shrikumar Menon
After years of waiting, Mohanlal had recently announced that he would be playing the lead role of Bheeman in the movie adaptation of Randamoozham. Titled as The Mahabharata, it is being made as the most expensive Indian movie ever with an astronomical budget of Rs 1000 crores. Renowned ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon will be directing this movie and UAE based Indian businessman Dr BR Shetty is producing this magnum opus.
Director of this massive project, VA Shrikumar Menon recently sat down for an interview with Radio Mango UAE where he revealed some exciting information about the movie.
The director said, “Mohanlal will be seen in a complete makeover. As confirmed by him in his blog, the great actor is ready to dedicate a lot of time for the project.”
The director in an earlier interview had said that the role of Bheeman will be a challenging one for Mohanlal. He said, “For the role, the actor will have to undergo a lot of physical and mental training. The character he plays undergoes various emotional turmoil and Lal is the one actor who can convey it to perfection,”
Mohanlal in his blog had written that he will be taking up intensive training to play the part of Bheeman. He will be training for the next two years under various gurus. The film will have various forms of warfare including use of clubs.
Apart from Mohanlal, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna has been approached to play the role of Karna. The makers have informed that many leading actors and technicians from India and across the globe will be associated with this project.
The Mahabharata will be officially launched within three months. They are planning to commence the shoot by August, next year. It will be made as a multilingual in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and English. This epic movie will be filmed in two parts and would have a worldwide release in 2020. The second part of the movie would be released from 90 days of the first part.
