Dangal has earned Rs 1900 crores at the box office worldwide
Aamir Khan’s Dangal continues to get phenomenal response at the Chinese box office. The movie has earned around Rs 1116.91 crores at the China box office, whereas in Taiwan the film has grossed Rs 38.75 crores.
The movie was released on May 5 in 9000 screens in China. Ever since then, it has been getting excellent response from the Chinese audience. Within a month from it’s release, Dangal created history by earning over Rs 1000 crores at the Chinese box office. It became the 33rd film in Chinese cinema history to cross one Billion RMB, which in Indian currency amounts to about Rs 1000 crore. It is currently the highest earning non- Hollywood film in the country.
Currently, the overseas gross of Dangal alone is estimated to be around Rs 1357.66 crores. That takes the film’s worldwide collection to over Rs 1900 crores. If the movie manages to cross the 2000 cr mark, it will be the first ever Indian movie to do so.
SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is close behind Dangal. It is worth a mention that the Prabhas – Rana Daggubati starrer has not yet released in China and Taiwan.
Dangal is a sports drama directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The movie also stars Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Sheikh, Suhani Bhatnagar, Zaira Wasim and Sanya Malhotra in lead roles. It is inspired from the real life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, who trained his daughters to world class wrestlers. The film is produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and UTV Motion Pictures.
