Kerala Box Office : Baahubali 2 Collection Report 52 Days
SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali : The Conclusion has crossed 50 days and is nearing it’s end of theatrical run in Kerala. As the movie is coming to it’s final days release there is a considerable dip in the box office returns collections. Despite that the movie has already emerged as the highest grossing non-Malayalam movie in Kerala.
As per trade sources, the movie has grossed m Rs 72.80 crores from it’s 52 days theatrical run in the Kerala box office alone. The Kerala distribution rights for Baahubali 2: The Conclusion was bought by United Global Media for an amount of Rs 13 crores. This suggests that the distributor’s share alone is amounted to be over Rs 40 crores.
Upon it’s release on April 28, the movie registered a new record for the highest first day grosser in Kerala by raking in Rs 5.90 crores. The following weeks witnessed unprecedented response for a non-Malayalam movie has been in Kerala. People flocked theatres in large numbers with families to watch this action epic drama.
Inspite of some big releases like Dulquer Salmaan’s CIA, Ramante Edanthottam, Tovino Thomas starrer Godha and Achayans, Baahubali 2 has managed to hold steady at the box office. Baahubali 2 was released in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi languages in Kerala.
The SS Rajamouli directorial has crossed over Rs 1600 crore mark from it’s earnings in all the versions in the worldwide box office. The Hindi version alone has grossed over Rs 730 crores while the collective earnings from Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions gross is around Rs 630 crores, taking the India gross to around Rs 1360 crores. In the overseas market, the film has earned around Rs 315 crores gross, thus taking its worldwide total to Rs 1675 crores.
