Fahadh Faasil is one of the very few actors in India who has been doing all kinds of challenging roles: Velaikaaran director Mohan Raja
As Fahadh Faasil celebrates his 35th birthday today, the makers of his debut Tamil film Velikaaran revealed his character poster. The actor is playing the antagonist in the film which stars Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara in the lead roles. Velaikaaran is directed by Mohan Raja, whose last film Thani Oruvan was a massive success.
There are talks about Fahadh’s character in Velaikaaran being on similar lines to Aravind Swamy’s in Thani Oruvan. However, the director reveals that his character has many shades and will appear throughout the film.
Mohan Raja believes that an actor can inspire a filmmaker to write a better character. He says, “Fahadh is one of the very few actors in India who has been doing all kinds of challenging roles and bringing him on board helped me to create a new, evolved antagonist.”
The director spilled more beans about the movie in a recent interview. Apparently, there are different shades to the relationship between the lead characters played by Fahahdh and Sivakarthikeyan. It begins as a friendship; there is also a guru-sishya element and it also has a clash of personalities.
According to trustworthy reports, Velikaaran will be dealing with a very relevant social issue. While Thani Oruvan was about medical mafia, Velaikaaran will be about food adulteration and how a slum dweller fights against the corrupt system.
Velaikaaran also stars Sneha, Prakash Raj, Vijay Vasanth, Thambi Ramiah, Charlie RJ Balaji, Rohini, Robo Shankar, Yogi Babu and Sathish are also part of the cast. Music department is handled by young sensation Anirudh Ravichander. The movie produced by RD Raja’s 24AM Studios is slated to hit screens worldwide on September 29.
