Aparana Balamurali paired opposite Askar Ali in ‘Kamuki’
Asif Ali’s brother Askar Ali made his debut recently with Honey Bee 2.5. The movie was released on August 18 and has opened to decent reports. Askar Ali’s performance has been appreciated and the youngster has now bagged his next. He is playing the lead in the upcoming movie ‘Kamuki’, directed by Binu S.
Maheshinte Prathikaram fame Aparna Balamurali has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Askar Ali. Incidentally, the actress’ last two releases, Sunday Holiday and Thrissivaperoor Kliptham, had Askar’s brother Asif Ali in the lead.
Kamuki’s director is noted for his debut movie Ithihasa. The movie which belongs to a fantasy- fun entertainer category had Shine Tom Chacko, Balu Varghese and Anusree in the lead roles. Upon release, the movie garnered positive reviews and emerged as a sleeper hit. His second film Style starring Unni Mukundan and Tovino Thomas in the lead failed to click in the box office.
The director will be hoping to get back to winning ways with Kamuki. He is also jointly producing this movie with Unmesh Unnikrishnan under the banner of Ithihasa Movies. Shoot for Kamuki commenced last day in Aluva and is expected to be wrapped up in a single schedule.
